Wendell B. Stockdale, SIOR
Broker
President, broker of record, and Principal of Commercial Prime Properties of Lancaster (Pennsylvania), Wendell B. Stockdale has more than 24 years of experience in commercial, industrial and office real estate. He has held a brokers license for the past 21 years.
His formal education includes a B.S. degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Masters of Business Administration cum-laude from the University of Chicago. He has also taken numerous courses in management, engineering, marketing, sales, cost analysis, real estate, appraising, and financing at various academic, military, and industry schools, colleges, and universities -- including the University of Michigan, the U.S.A.F. Institute of Technology, and Ohio State University.
Mr. Stockdale began his real estate career with Hicks Realty Company in 1985, specializing in commercial, industrial, and office sales and leasing. During his tenure at Hicks, he was the all-time top salesman. |
In 1991, Mr. Stockdale and four partners founded Commercial Industrial Brokers, Inc. ( CIBI ), where he was Vice President and a Principal of the firm. By the end of 1999, he was top salesman during four of his eight years with CIBI and runner-up in the other four years. He left CIBI in 2000, and with his son, John Stockdale, he founded Commercial Prime Properties.
Mr. Stockdale's real estate experience encompasses all aspects of industrial, investment, office and commercial real estate, as well as business opportunities brokerage. A partial list of his major clients includes regionally and nationally recognized firms, such as Armstrong World Industries, WAWA, Manor Care, International Paper, Gerber Products, Inc., Kerr Glass, Burle Industries, Bulova Technologies, Easco/KD Tools, BJ's Wholesale Club, EI Dupont, F&M Hat Co., Lancaster Press, QVC, Inc., Ferranti International, and Nichia America.
Mr. Stockdale is a member of the prestigious Society of Industrial and Office Realtors ( SIOR ) and is one of only 3,200 real estate professionals worldwide with this designation. He is a member of, and has served as president of, the Lancaster County Commercial and Industrial Council, and holds membership in the Lancaster County Association of Realtors, the Commercial and Industrial Council, the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, the Tri-State Commercial and Industrial Real Estate Association, and the Pennsylvania Real Estate Marketing Association. He has served on various committees of the Lancaster County Association of Realtors. In 1998, he was selected as the Commercial Industrial Realtor of the Year.
Mr. Stockdale was an officer in the U.S. Air Force, serving in supply, administration, flight operations, weapon systems management, planning, cost analysis, R&D, and flight test engineering. He also served as a jet fighter pilot, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Upon leaving the service, he accepted a position as Assistant to the President of the Columbia Telephone Company. Subsequent promotions saw him serving as head of Industrial Relations, Personnel, Planning, and Transmission Engineering and Construction, culminating as General Manager of the Warren ( OH ) Telephone Co. He later served with United Utilities ( now Sprint ) as President of the United System Supply Co., a telephone supply and distribution firm.
Mr. Stockdale then became a co-owner, Vice President and CEO of Hinkle Enterprises, Inc., a light manufacturing firm. When the company was sold in 1984, Mr. Stockdale began his real estate career.
His civic activities have included membership and leadership positions in Chambers of Commerce, Area Betterment Council, Rotary International, School Board, Boy Scouts, Booster Club, Republican Party, YMCA, Community Improvement Corporation, charity fundraising, Elder in his church, and a variety of other organizations. |
